Outside of the normal surgery hours you will hear a message giving you another number to call. This is the NHS 111. (Calls to the NHS 111 Service are free from both landlines and mobiles) who will refer onto the OOH Service Provider (Urgent Care 24) if necessary. This service operates between 18:30 - 08:00 and at weekends and public holidays.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
